This statement reflects her paradigm shift. She pointed out that pregnancy and postpartum were crucial periods to deepen this new understanding of exercise. «The change in mindset is more on the inside than the outside,» she admitted at the time, emphasizing that internal well-being and functional capacity are now her main drivers. The video initially shared begins with images of the Laura when she was younger under the premise «how it started», to then illustrate her physical transformation with «how it's going», showing how the incorporation of exercise has sculpted her body and shaped her image, from radical haircuts to her current long hair.
A sporting journey from childhood to strength training
The sporting career of Laura Escanes has deep roots that go back to her childhood. From a very young age, sport was part of her life. For approximately sis anys, she practiced competitive swimming at Club Natació Sabadell, even participating in the Catalan Championship before quitting around 12 or 13 years old. After swimming, she explored other disciplines such as dance and volleyball. This early immersion in physical activity illustrates that her connection with sport began long before gym training and has evolved through various modalities, a pattern that reflects the dynamism in physical education and the change in school sports.
Her current workouts focus especially on strength training and physical conditioning. In October of 2024, she shared a session at the center of Crys Dyaz, which she attended three days a week, performing exercises such as burpees, cable rows, jump squats, or rope work. Strength has been a constant component of her routines for years. Previously, she had explained that with Crys Dyaz she worked arms, glutes, legs, and abdomen, highlighting that abdominal exercise also contributed to strengthening the back area.
Over the years, Escanes has experimented with a wide variety of sports. The 2023, she showed her passion for climbing, visiting a climbing gym to practice this discipline. The same year, she ventured into surfing, receiving instruction at Honna Surf Hub, a Alcorcón, to master the board. Running has also been incorporated into her sports routine, starting to share her running sessions in the autumn of 2024 and even participating in a competition, while combining it with her strength and functional exercise sessions at the gym. Her relationship with sport has extended to activities such as cycling, which she often practices with her partner, the skier Joan Verdú.
